As we approach Valentine’s day the studio gets busy, usually photographing women in Boudoir type shoots. They come in to be photographed for their husband, boyfriend and sometimes for themselves. In addition to that, we also book our famous “Ladies Night Out” event, which includes five to six friends, a little wine and a ton of fun.
My favorite type of photo shoot are the ladies. I love fashion and love being creative, but most importantly I enjoy seeing the ladies have fun, having their makeup done, hair styled… I describe their day as a “Me Day.” Doing a boudoir shoot isn’t for everyone and I know that most women think about it a lot. The most important thing that needs to be assuring is that the “women need to feel comfortable” and that is achieved mostly be using the right photographer and staff. If the photographer feels comfortable then the ladies feel comfortable, if the photographer is emanating creeper vibes… well you get it…
We have taken great pride in how we do things here at the studio, and the studio staff is key!
Funny story…
When I first started my photography business, I mostly photographed families, HS seniors and weddings. Years ago, a young bride came in to do “special” photographs for her future husband and the clothing she came in with was nice…not too sexy. My wife Maureen, was talking her into posing for a more revealing photo shoot…wow, what wife does that! Her photographs were awesome and her new husband received them the day of the wedding, we took pictures of him opening his picture album, and his expression was priceless! To this day, he thanks me.
Anyhow, that’s how I started photographing women. Now, thousands of ladies later, I am still at it, and still having a great time. I put together a short video of some of the fun we have in the studio, I hope you enjoy watching it.
Until next time….
